40+ Beautiful Examples of Sunrise Photography

40+ Beautiful Examples of Sunrise Photography

The first few moments we find right as the sun breaks for a new day is a very special time. The quality of light is usually amazing and makes fantastic images. Sunrise is the instant at which the upper edge of the Sun appears above the horizon in the east. Sunrise should not be confused with dawn, which is the point at which the sky begins to lighten, some time before the sun itself appears, ending twilight. Because atmospheric refraction causes the sun to be seen while it is still below the horizon, both sunrise and sunset are, from one point of view, optical illusions. The sun also exhibits an optical illusion at sunrise similar to the moon illusion.

Lars Bottens’s Stylish And Catchy Photography

Lars Bottens’s Stylish And Catchy Photography

When I first looked through this gallery one of the things that jumped out at me the most, was the photographer’s choice to hide the faces of some of his models. I’d never seen this done before and I think it creates a great element of mystery that leaves his audience wanting more. The second thing that struck me was the overall retro feel of many of his photos. Norwegian photographer Lars Botten really captures the style of the fashion photography of the early 1960s.

I hope you enjoy the stylish fashion and nature photography of this talented artist. And if I’m not mistaken, I think that’s British actress Keira Knightley in a few of the photos. A fitting subject for photo gallery showcasing beauty if there ever was one.

Excellent Rule-of-Thirds Photography

Composition. Composition. Composition. Take a simple photography and transform it into art. The rule of thirds is a simple rule of thumb to turn what meets the naked eye skewed perception, angles and ambiguity. Simply place your main focus and subject in one area of the imaginary thirds in a photograph made up of nine equal parts: its merely playing tic tac toe with your camera and the subject that attracts you –cover one-third of the grid and you’ve won. This way the viewer shift their eyesight towards your subject and you automatically create a picturesque snapshot with eye-catching center-point. The rule of thirds is a marvelous rule to photograph by, but not to live by so once you master it you can enjoy breaking the rule.
